Competition - the looming threat

The entrepreneurial and managerial skills have been continuously threatened by the twin blows in the name of internal and external competition in the reign of modern open market. CEOs have always been under such Himalayan pressure.

On the one hand the market competition and emerging small entrepreneurs and freelancers have forced the companies to keep the pricing at a very low level implying a lesser profit margin and on the other the indomitable desire of the employers to grab the efficient people of the other companies in a ready to use condition have forced the companies towards an exorbitant salary hikes to raise the cost of the company dramatically.

The situation has been worsened by the sinusoidal curve shown by the dollar price and share market almost in all the countries. The CEO’s lives have become more complex. Many companies have been forced just to totter rather than hop and even the cost reduction in the non-essential segments can hardly give them the breathing space where the expectation from the CEOs has become steep.

Remember, your wild jubilation by winning a project or recruiting a front line marketing manager may come to an end just by another exuberant attempt of your competitor.
